2-5 Feburary 2012 - Tauranga Showjumping World Cup Final

Wow. What a show! A huge thankyou to the Tauranga Showjumping group for staging such a great event. Millsreef winery on the Thursday evening - what a great concept. Super setting for such an event and im sure was enjoyed by all that took part, spectators, sponsors and competitors alike! A tremendous thankyou to Bayleys for the generous sponsorship for the Tauraga World Cup final rounds.

Amaretto is really proving just how incredible he really is. This horse is just so special and has well exceeded any expectations we had for him as an 8 year old. 2x wins, 2x 2nd and a 6th placing from 6 rounds in his first season jumping world cup...

Even through I managed to nominate the wrong horse for the World Cup points all the way through the season until Tauranga, we still managed to finish in 4th position. A huge congrats to Kate McVean for taking out the series for the 3rd season in a row.

Beetle and Tui are having a well deserved quiet couple of weeks now, then we jump Woodhill 3***, Hawera 3*** and then to the HOY show.
I would like the thank everyone who had helped and supported me this season so far. It really has had a huge part to play in the success my incredible ponies have had in recent months. Mum & Dad. Tim. The Booth family. Jeff Mcvean for keeping an eye on me at the practice jump and always gold with the advice. Greg Best the genius, and my awesome sponsors -Vetpro Bates and Stirrups (Thanks stirrups for me new black Equiline jacket. LOVE it and apparently quite lucky!) Cheers guys. I really appreciate it.

14 November  2011-

November has been a pretty amazing month so far for the team with My Ocean Wave taking out the World Cup class at Kihikihi. It was only Tui's second World cup start and Amaretto's first. Both horses jumped outstandingly well. Amaretto had 8 faults near the end of the course, (rider error!) but really demonstrated how much of a class act he really is stepping up with no problem. Very excting for the future. Tui jumped the round of her life in the second round coming home fast and clear for the win.http://nzequestrian.org.nz/Article.aspx?Mode=1&ID=733&ESID=5526

My Ocean Wave also finished fourth in the Cambridge Cup 1* Grand Prix on the first day of the show with Amaretto having the triple bar down for  4 Faults in the First round.Bates Casaraghi again jumped double clear for 1st= in the 5yr series class.  Kihikihi was once again a superb show with amazing ground. Thanks to the organising committe for doing such a great job!

The following weekend Amaretto and My Ocean Wave jumped the 2** Grand Prix at Auckland Manakau with Amaretto collecting 4th place.

Woodhill sands 2** Show next weekend, then off on tour again to Foxton 2**, Feilding World Cup, Young Horse Champs, and Taupo Xmas classic.

September 2011

The 2011-2011 NZ Showjumping season is well underway and so far have had a great start.

'Bates Amaretto MVNZ' took out the 1.30m class on the opening day at all three shows - Pukahu, Woodhill Sands and Rotorua. He has stepped up to Grand Prix this year for 4 fault rounds and Pukahu and Woodhill and jumped a super clear to finish 2nd at Rotorua. This horse is really is something special, and will be aimed towards the 3*** Grand Prix classes later in the season.

'My Ocean Wave 'has been to two shows for two prizes in the Grand Prix - 6th at Woodhill Sands, and 3rd at Rotorua. She has come back from her winter break at her owners (The Green Family) looking and feeling great. Thanks to Barry, Alison and Russel for the opportunity to campaign 'Tui' again.

'Bates Casiraghi' (aka Carter our firstborn) has had his first taste of being a big kid, being on the truck as part of the team and has been very well behaved at his first shows. Carter will be competing in the 5yr Series classes this season.

August 2011

To kick things off I have been named in the SJNZ Development Squad. Thanks to the selectors for this recognition and the training opportunities to come.

On 26-27 August I attended the SJNZ Training camp at the National Equestrian Centre in Taupo. This was a great weekend where we were fortunate to train with the wonderful Samantha McIntosh (jumping) and Bill Noble (flat). A great weekend was had by all, these two are brilliant trainers and was great to come away with new ideas and goals to work towards.

I would like to acknowledge my wonderful sponsors Bates Saddles, Vetpro, and Stirrups Equestrian for confirming once again their support for the coming season. I cannot thank you enough. Your support means the world to myself and my team. Thank You!
